It is purpose-built for product launch motion graphics: Product Hunt videos, SaaS explainers, app demos, and founder updates. Unlike screen-recording tools (Loom, Tella, Screen Studio) and generic AI video tools (Runway, Pika, Sora), Motionflare specializes in brand-aware motion design for software products. It automatically reads the source URL's logo, brand colors, copy, and product screenshots, then generates per-scene React/Remotion motion graphics synced to an AI-generated voice-over. The product is positioned as "the easiest way to create a launch video." Tagline: *Turn any webpage into a studio-quality motion video. Paste a URL, ship in 60 seconds to X, YouTube, or Product Hunt.* Website: https://motionflare.ai Status: Publicly available as of 2026-08. --- ## Who it's for - **SaaS founders** preparing a Product Hunt launch and needing a video asset same-day - **Indie hackers** shipping side projects who want a professional-looking demo without editing skills - **Product marketers** who need launch videos at scale (one per feature release, etc.) - **Solo founders without a designer** — the generator handles brand extraction automatically Not a great fit for: - Live-action video editing (Motionflare is motion graphics only, no camera footage) - Long-form content (typical output is 30-60 seconds) - Complex software demos requiring narrated screen recording --- ## How it works (pipeline) 1. **URL submission** — paste any public webpage URL 2. **Drafting** — AI scrapes the page and produces a script draft for user approval 3. **Logo prep** — auto-detects logo, brand colors, and typography 4. **Layout planning** — AI plans scene structure and motion choreography 5. **Voicing** — Gemini TTS generates an AI voice-over per scene 6. **Scening** — Gemini codegen produces per-scene React/Remotion components, bundled with esbuild, uploaded to R2 storage 7. **Combining** — assembles the final composition with tail padding 8. **Preview** — user reviews the video in the browser, can refine specific scenes 9. **Export** — renders via Remotion Lambda to 1080p or 4K MP4 Total user-facing wait: ~60 seconds from URL paste to first preview. Refinement and export are additional credit-charged actions. --- ## Pricing Credit-based model. Credits are pre-deducted at task start; failed tasks refund automatically. ### Plans | Plan | Price | Monthly credits | Watermark | Export | |---|---|---|---|---| | Free | $0 | 15 (one-time signup bonus, no monthly refresh) | Yes | None by default; see one-time export below | | Pro | $29/month | 100 | No | 1080p and 4K | | Max | $99/month | 500 | No | 1080p and 4K | Free creates and previews complete videos in the browser but carries no subscription entitlement to export, render, download, or share. The one-time export below is the only way a Free user gets a file. ### One-time export - $15, bound to a single finished project - Exports once at 1080p or 4K, no watermark, no credits deducted, no subscription - A different product from the credit pack despite the shared price ### Credit pack - $15 for 50 credits - Never expire - Top-up for active Pro/Max subscribers only; Free plan checkout is rejected server-side - A pack does not unlock export on its own - Consumed after monthly subscription credits expire ### Action costs | Action | Cost | |---|---| | Scene generation (per scene) | 1-5 credits, by model | | Scene refinement (per regenerated scene) | 1-5 credits, by model | | Voice-over-only edit (per changed scene) | 1 credit | | Export 1080p | 2 credits | | Export 4K | 3 credits | Scene cost follows the generation model's multiplier, so the same video costs different amounts depending on which model the project resolved to. ### Cost per finished minute A 60-second video runs about eight scenes. On Pro that is roughly 8 scenes plus 2 credits to export at 1080p, so about 10-42 credits per finished video depending on the model, out of 100 credits a month. At the 1x model tier that works out to roughly $2.90 per finished minute. --- ## Key features - **Brand auto-detection**: pulls logo, colors, and typography from any URL - **AI script generation**: drafts a narrative script you can edit before generation - **Per-scene React/Remotion components**: each scene is real code, not a template — fully customizable - **AI voice-over**: Gemini TTS with multiple voice options - **In-browser preview**: realtime Remotion Player, scrubbable timeline - **Refinement**: regenerate individual scenes without redoing the whole video - **4K export**: cloud rendering via Remotion Lambda - **Showcase gallery**: public videos shipped by other users, indexed for discovery - **Multi-format**: vertical (Product Hunt, mobile), horizontal (YouTube, X), square (LinkedIn) - **Watermark-free** on paid plans --- ## Common use cases ### Product Hunt launch video Vertical or square format. Paste your PH submission URL or your landing page. Motionflare generates a 30-45 second hype video with logo reveal, feature highlights, and CTA. ### SaaS explainer for X/Twitter Horizontal format. Paste your homepage. Output is a 45-60 second narrative video showing the product flow, optimized for X's autoplay-with-sound preview. ### App demo for landing pages Horizontal 1080p. Paste a feature page. The output embeds well above the fold and replaces a static hero image. ### Founder updates / changelog videos Paste your changelog URL or a release blog post. Motionflare turns it into a "what we shipped" recap video for X or email newsletters. --- ## Pages on motionflare.ai - `/` — Landing page, primary CTA: paste URL or sign up - `/features` — How it works, walkthrough of the generation pipeline - `/pricing` — Plans, credit packs, action costs - `/alternatives` — Sourced comparisons with other AI video tools - `/alternatives/motion-so` — Motion.so plans, pricing screenshots, and cost-per-finished-minute comparison - `/alternatives/motionvid` — MotionVid.ai plans, credit costs, export caps, and API/MCP access tiers - `/url-to-video` — Turn a public website URL into a finished marketing video: steps, FAQs, limits - `/product-demo-video` — 30–60 second SaaS product demo from a product page, real UI, no screen recording - `/faq` — Short answers for URL-to-video, one-video pricing, and whether the UI is real - `/ai-video-ad-generator` — Ad creative generated from a product page - `/ai-motion-graphics-generator` — Motion graphics generated from a URL, no timeline editor - `/blog` — Essays on motion video, AI generation, product launches - `/blog/[slug]` — Individual blog posts - `/signup`, `/login` — Account creation and authentication (email + password, Google OAuth, GitHub OAuth) - `/privacy`, `/terms` — Legal pages - `/about` — Motionflare company, product purpose, and operating model - `/contact` — Support, billing, privacy, partnership, and press contact details - `/developers` — Official developer and agent resource index; current API, webhook, and MCP availability - `/llms.txt`, `/llms-full.txt` — Machine-readable product references for AI agents Authenticated app pages (gated, not for indexing): - `/dashboard` — Project creation hub - `/projects` — List of user's projects - `/project/[id]` — Per-project chat editor with live video preview - `/billing`, `/profile` — Account management --- ## Technical stack - **Frontend**: Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, Tailwind v4, TypeScript 5.9 - **Backend**: Fastify 5, Prisma, PostgreSQL - **AI**: Google Gemini (TTS, codegen, script drafting) - **Video**: Remotion 4 + Remotion Lambda for cloud rendering - **Storage**: Cloudflare R2 for scene bundles and exported MP4s - **Auth**: better-auth (email + password, Google, GitHub) - **Payments**: Stripe (subscriptions + credit packs) - **Hosting**: Vercel (web) + Fly.io (API) --- ## Comparison vs alternatives ### vs Loom / Tella / Screen Studio Motionflare is **motion graphics**, not screen recording. You don't film anything — the AI builds the video from your URL's content. Better for hype/explainer videos; worse for detailed software demos. ### vs Runway / Pika / Sora Motionflare is **purpose-built for product launches**, not general AI video. Output is consistent, on-brand, and structured (scene-by-scene narrative). General AI video tools produce more creative but less predictable output. ### vs Canva / Veed / InVideo Motionflare is **fully automated** — no template selection, no timeline editing. Paste URL, get video. Canva/Veed give you more manual control; Motionflare gives you speed. ### vs Synthesia / HeyGen Motionflare uses **AI voice-over without an AI avatar**. The visual focus is motion graphics, not a talking head. ### vs Motion.so Motion.so is Motion by Mosaic, an AI motion-design agent, not the unrelated usemotion.com calendar app. Its published August 2026 plans are Flex at $5 per 200-credit top-up, Pro at $29/month for 1,250 credits, and Max at $99/month for 5,000 credits. Motion's own estimator puts four one-minute videos at 1,200 credits, about 300 credits or $6.90 per finished minute at the displayed Pro credit rate. At Motionflare's 1x model tier, a 60-second video is about eight 1-credit scenes plus a 2-credit 1080p export, about 10 credits or $2.90 per finished minute on Pro. Premium models, refinements, and 4K exports increase that figure. The [full comparison](https://motionflare.ai/alternatives/motion-so) includes the pricing screenshots, calculations, and cases where Motion.so is the better fit. ### vs MotionVid.ai MotionVid.ai is an AI motion and video editor. Beyond generating animated graphics with narration and music from a prompt, it edits footage you upload and produces infographics. Its published August 2026 plans are Basic at $9/month for 100 credits and 25 video exports at 1080p, Pro at $29/month for 500 credits and 50 exports, Ultimate at $49/month for 1,000 credits, 150 exports and up to 4K video, and Creator at $249/month for 5,000 credits with unlimited exports and 8K infographics. Its pricing page lists no free tier, credits do not roll over, and the REST API plus hosted MCP server are limited to Ultimate, Creator, and AppSumo Tier 5+. Credits do not convert between the two products: MotionVid prices per generation and per 4 seconds of AI footage, Motionflare prices per scene and per export, so any exchange rate would be invented. The honest comparisons are the entry price ($9/month vs 15 free one-time credits then $29/month), what unlocks export (a subscription with a monthly export cap vs 2 credits at 1080p or a $15 one-time export bound to one project), and the input: MotionVid's API grounds generation on document URLs (PDF, CSV, plain text) and images, while Motionflare's Website mode reads a live page's logo, colors, copy, and screenshots directly. The [full comparison](https://motionflare.ai/alternatives/motionvid) covers the cases where MotionVid is the better fit, including footage editing and API use. --- ## Founder Motionflare is built by Joey ([@zzjoey_](https://twitter.com/zzjoey_)).
