AI ad tools have split into three kinds, and picking the wrong kind is the quickest way to burn a month of credits. Avatar tools put an AI presenter on camera. Generative video models render footage from a prompt. Brand-first tools build the ad from your product, your site and your brand assets.

This guide explains the difference, then lists the tools that do each job best. We make Motionflare, one of the tools below, so we have tried hard to be fair: we point out where every tool falls short, ours included, and every price comes from the vendor's own pricing page, checked on November 3, 2026.

The short answer

  • For an ad that shows your product, price and brand, made from your website: Motionflare. Motion mode makes motion-graphics ads, and Film mode makes live-action commercials of 5 to 45 seconds.
  • For UGC-style avatar ads from a product link: Creatify.
  • For UGC ads with a large cast of AI actors: Arcads.
  • For realistic AI presenters and video translation: HeyGen.
  • For corporate presenter videos and dubbing: Synthesia.
  • For cinematic generated footage you cut yourself: Runway.

Three kinds of AI ad tools

1. AI presenters and UGC-style ads. You pick an AI actor, paste a script or a product link, and the tool generates someone talking about your product to camera. This is the format for testing many hooks on TikTok, Reels and Meta. The catch is that viewers have learned to spot avatars, and the look varies a lot between tools. Creatify, Arcads, HeyGen and Synthesia work this way.

2. Generative footage. Video models render photoreal or cinematic shots from a text prompt or a reference image. They are great at atmosphere: light, motion, people, places. They draw every frame as pixels, though, so product names, prices and interface text often come out garbled, and you usually get clips you still have to cut into an ad. Runway is the best-known tool here.

3. Brand-first ads. The tool starts from what you already have: your website, product photos, logo and colors. Text is set as type, so the product name, the price and the offer stay legible and correct. This suits small brands and software companies whose ad has to show the real product. Motionflare works this way.

A useful rule: if the ad's job is to show a person, start with group 1. If it is to show a mood, start with group 2. If it has to show your product, your price or your interface, start with group 3.

1. Motionflare: best for ads that show your product, built from your website

What you give it: your website or product page URL, or a one-line idea.

What you get: two kinds of ad. Motion mode makes a motion-graphics ad from your site's real screenshots, product images, logo and colors, with headlines, product names and prices set as type, so they stay legible at any size. Film mode makes a live-action commercial of 5 to 45 seconds, with generated people and places, voiceover, sound and music, at up to 4K. Both export in 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Pricing: free accounts get a watermarked preview of up to 10 seconds, with no card. Exporting takes a $15 credit pack (40 credits, no subscription) or a plan from $29 a month (100 credits a month). A 30-second Motion ad costs 15 credits on Claude Haiku 5.5 or 54 on Claude Opus 5.5, the default on paid plans, plus 2 credits for a 1080p export. Film is priced per second by video model and resolution: a 10-second 720p film costs about 13.5 credits, and a film that fails is refunded.

Watch out for: there are no avatars or UGC presenters. Film mode renders its footage with video models, so if the exact packaging or interface has to be right, show it in a Motion cut instead.

More: AI video ad generator and Film mode.

What you give it: a product or app link from Amazon, Shopify, the App Store or Google Play, or a script.

What you get: a UGC-style ad. Creatify pulls the product's assets and writes the script, and an AI avatar presents it. It also makes image ads, and its entry plan includes generative video models such as Seedance 2.0 and Kling 3.0.

Pricing: a free plan gives 10 credits a month, enough for up to 2 watermarked video ads. Standard is $15 a month, or $10 a month billed yearly, for 55 credits a month, which Creatify says covers about 11 fifteen-second avatar videos. Credits expire after two months, and videos run up to 2 minutes on Standard.

Watch out for: the look is an AI presenter, which viewers increasingly recognize, and the format suits physical products better than software.

3. Arcads: best for UGC ads with a large cast of AI actors

What you give it: a script, plus product photos or app screenshots for product shots.

What you get: a talking-actor ad from a library of over 1,000 AI actors, up to 2 minutes long and up to 4K. Arcads also generates short product clips, such as an unboxing or an app showcase, with models including Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0.

Pricing: there is no free plan. A 72-hour trial with 1,000 credits needs a card and rolls into the Starter plan, whose price is shown only inside the app.

Watch out for: because the price isn't published, you can't compare the cost per ad before you start a trial.

4. HeyGen: best for realistic presenters and video translation

What you give it: a script, or a prompt for its Video Agent.

What you get: a presenter video with a stock or custom AI avatar, in more than 175 languages, plus translation of existing videos. The Video Agent turns a prompt into a 15, 30 or 60 second video with avatars, motion graphics and B-roll.

Pricing: a free plan makes 3 videos a month, up to 1 minute each, watermarked. Creator is $29 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, with 600 credits and 1080p export; Pro is $49 a month, or $41 billed yearly, and adds 4K.

Watch out for: the format is person-to-camera, and the pricing page doesn't say how many credits an ad uses.

5. Synthesia: best for corporate presenter videos and dubbing

What you give it: a script.

What you get: a video presented by an AI avatar, with dubbing into other languages. It is built for training, onboarding and internal communications more than for performance ads.

Pricing: the free Basic plan includes 10 minutes of video a month, watermarked. Starter is $19 a month ($9 for the first month), with 1,250 credits a month and a limited set of avatars.

Watch out for: a custom avatar of yourself is a paid annual add-on, and the presenter format reads as corporate in a social feed.

6. Runway: best for cinematic generated footage

What you give it: a text prompt or a reference image.

What you get: generated video clips from Runway's own models, Gen-4.5 and Gen-4 Turbo, and from other models it hosts, such as Kling and Seedance, to cut into your own ad.

Pricing: the free tier gives 125 one-time credits. Standard is $15 a month, or $12 a month billed yearly, for 625 credits a month, which buys 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 footage or 104 seconds of Gen-4 Turbo, without watermarks.

Watch out for: you pay per second of footage, retakes included, and you still edit the clips into an ad and add the voice and music. Like every pixel generator, it can garble on-screen text and product names.

How much does an AI video ad cost?

AI ad tools price in credits, and a credit means something different in every tool, so compare the cost of one finished ad rather than the plan price. Two examples from the vendors' own pricing pages:

  • Motionflare: a 30-second motion-graphics ad costs 15 credits on Claude Haiku 5.5 or 54 on Claude Opus 5.5, plus 2 credits for a 1080p export. Pro's 100 monthly credits for $29 work out to $0.29 a credit, so the Haiku ad comes to about $5. In Film mode, a 10-second 720p live-action film costs about 13.5 credits, around $4 on Pro.
  • Runway: Standard's 625 credits ($15 a month) buy 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 footage, so 30 seconds of footage uses more than half the month's credits before any retakes, and you still add the voice and music yourself.

A traditional shoot is priced differently: you pay a crew, a cast, a location and an editor, usually by the day. AI doesn't remove the need for a good idea and a few rounds of revisions, but it turns a production budget into a per-second cost you can test before you commit.

How to choose

  • TikTok and Reels testing for physical products. Avatar UGC tools let you test many hooks and presenters per product cheaply.
  • A 15 to 30 second ad that shows your product. Use a brand-first tool, so the product name, price and interface stay sharp at every size.
  • A TV-style brand spot. A generative model gives you the cinematic look; a tool that plans the whole spot for you, with voiceover and music, saves you from assembling clips by hand.
  • YouTube pre-roll and X. Export 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, and put the brand and the offer in the first few seconds.
  • No product footage at all. Start from your website: tools that read a URL can build the ad from what is already on your pages.

How we compiled this list

We included tools that make video ads for brands, that are widely recommended for that job, and that publish their prices, or say clearly that they don't. Prices are list prices in US dollars from each vendor's pricing page on November 3, 2026. Vendors change them often, so check the current page before you buy.

We make Motionflare. We have tried to describe every tool, ours included, by the job it does best and by where it falls short. If you spot something out of date, email [email protected] and we'll fix it.

Frequently asked questions

What's the best AI video ad generator for YouTube and TikTok ads?

For avatar UGC ads on TikTok, Creatify and Arcads are built for testing many variants. For an ad that has to show your product, its name and its price clearly, Motionflare builds it from your site in 16:9 for YouTube or 9:16 for TikTok, with type that stays legible. For cinematic footage to cut into your own edit, Runway is the usual pick.

What's the best AI commercial generator for a small brand?

A small brand usually has a website and some product photos, but no footage and no crew. Motionflare starts from exactly that: it reads your site and makes a motion-graphics ad, or a live-action commercial in Film mode, with a free watermarked preview before you pay. If you want a person presenting the product, an avatar tool such as Creatify is the better fit.

Is there an AI ad generator that works from a product URL?

Yes. Motionflare and Creatify both start from a product or website URL. Motionflare turns it into a brand-first motion-graphics ad or a live-action Film commercial; Creatify turns it into an avatar ad. Our AI video ad generator page shows the motion-graphics route.

How do I make a video ad for my Shopify store with AI?

Paste your product page URL into a tool that reads it. The tool pulls the product name, photos and selling points and writes the ad around them. Choose an avatar UGC ad if you want a presenter, or a brand-first ad if you want your product photos and price on screen.

Can AI make a 30-second commercial for my product?

Yes. Motionflare's Film mode turns a URL or a one-line idea into a live-action commercial of 5 to 45 seconds, in 16:9 or 9:16 at up to 4K, with voiceover, sound and music. Motion mode makes motion-graphics ads of 10 to 90 seconds. Generative video tools can make the shots too, but you usually assemble the 30 seconds yourself from shorter clips.

Can I make live-action video ads without a film shoot?

Yes. Generative video models render live-action footage from a prompt, and Motionflare's Film mode plans and renders a complete live-action commercial from your website, including the voiceover and the music. Expect to steer it over a few rounds: generated people and places are convincing, but your product's exact packaging or interface is safer in a motion-graphics cut.

What are the alternatives to HeyGen, Synthesia or Creatify without avatars?

If you don't want a presenter on screen, use a tool that builds the ad from your product and brand instead. Motionflare makes motion-graphics videos and live-action films with no avatar library. We compare each one in detail: HeyGen, Synthesia and Creatify.

What are the alternatives to Higgsfield for brand commercials?

If you want a finished brand commercial rather than a toolbox of generators, Motionflare's Film mode plans the whole spot from your website, with voiceover and music. For raw cinematic footage to edit yourself, Runway is the closest pick. Our Higgsfield comparison covers the details.
